Füssen Bavaria

Füssen -- situated at the southern end of the Romantic Road and in the heart of one of the finest holiday regions in the entire Alpine region. The town’s location on the edge of the Alps is impressive: framed in by imposing high mountain peaks and an idyllic lake district, at an altitude of 800 – 1200 meters above sea level, making it Bavaria’s town at the highest elevation, the ideal starting point for visiting the royal castles of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau.

This was our first experience with German thermal sauna's, spa's and nudity, but not our last. During the winter months, we have visited many great Therme's throughout Germany

Neuschwanstein Castle. New Swan Stone palace; pronounced [nɔʏˈʃvaːnʃtaɪ̯n]) is a 19th-century Bavarian palace on a rugged hill near Hohenschwangau and Füssen in southwest Bavaria, Germany. The palace was commissioned by Ludwig II of Bavaria as a retreat and as an homage to Richard Wagner, the King's inspiring muse. Although public photography of the interior is not permitted, it is the most photographed building in Germany and is one of the country's most popular tourist destinations. Somehow, my camera went off inside and I was able to capture this photograph, unretouched, out the window looking south.
